Floral Tea
Farmers knowing that tea is absorbent to aroma, they then use fresh flowers to blend with dried leaves and produce Floral Tea. They first decide the tea used, mix flowers into it evenly, and then put the mixture in closed cabinets for hours. This process of blending is repeated several times, letting the tea absorb most fragrance from flowers. Then the flowers are sorted out and only scented tea is used. Most common Floral Tea are Jasmine Mao Feng, Jasmine Silver Fur, Jasmine Chrysanthemum-shaped, Jasmine Ball-shaped, Jasmine Dragon Pearl-shaped, Fragrant Liu An, Osmanthus Liu An, Rose Black Tea and Chrysanthemum Pu Er.
Zhejiang Jasmine Mao Feng
Green Tea Mao Feng of Zhejiang Province is used to blend with Jasmine. When tea has absorbed the flower fragrance after blending several times, Jasmine is taken away and only tea is used. Leaves are green, small and tender with strong Jasmine fragrance. Drink is clear, light and fresh.
Fuding Jasmine Silver Fur
Leaves of Xiao Bai from Fuding in Fujian Province, is used in blending with Jasmine. The way of processing is the same as Jasmine Mao Feng. Leaves are small, young and silver green. Taste of drink is lighter than Jasmine Mao Feng.
Fuding Jasmine Ball-shaped
Fuding Jasmine Chrysanthemum-shaped
Fuding Jasmine Dragon Pearl-shaped
Sprouts of Tai Ba Hou that cultivated in Fuding of Fujian Province are used. They are not fermented and blended with Jasmine like Jasmine Mao Feng. Besides the usual procedures in processing, farmers’ techniques are also seen in the binding of sprouts into shapes of ball, chrysanthemum and pearl.
Chrysanthemum Pu Er
Yunnan Aged Pu Er is used to blend with petals of Chrysanthemum. According to “Curative Treatments and Herbs”, Chrysanthemum is good for people having sleepless nights.
Fragrant Liu An
Liu An which does not undergo the process of fermentation, is blended with little Orchid.
Osmanthus Liu An
Dried Osmanthus is used to mix with Liu An for the floral fragrance. Drink is orange red, taste is smooth and subtle.
Rose Black Tea
Keemun Black Tea is used to blend with petals of Rose, adding floral fragrance to the famous Keemun Black Tea. According to the Chinese medicine book of “Curative Treatments and Herbs”, Rose is a good relief for tension and red eyes.
