Powder-Blue Glaze Travelling Teapot Set

This travelling teapot set is personally designed by Mr. Zheng Xudong, a fourth-generation inheritor of a renowned celadon ceramic family. Rooted in Longquan celadon — a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage — the set features the traditional Powder-Blue glaze, prized for its gentle, jade-like lustre. Fired at a high temperature of 1,300°C, it captures the understated elegance of Song Dynasty ceramics, often described as “the sky after rain, where blue breaks through the clouds.”

The whimsical pandas in relief on the teapot body and cup walls are the artistic focal point of the design. With their charmingly naive and endearing posture, the pandas symbolise “peace, happiness, and lasting joy,” quietly weaving a sense of harmony between humanity and nature into the daily tea ritual.

The lid is adorned with a traditional handcrafted “jump knife” carving technique. The plant-ash glaze, reduced under high-temperature firing, forms a reddish-brown surface that blends seamlessly with the textured lines left by the jump knife. The resulting finish resembles fine bamboo weaving and creates a striking colour contrast with the warm, smooth celadon — both stylish and richly textured.

The set is thoughtfully configured with one teapot and two cups, specially designed for travel. The cups can be neatly nested inside the teapot, allowing for compact storage that takes up little space. Whether during a work break, on a business trip, or outdoors in nature, you can brew a soothing cup of tea anytime — bringing the understated elegance of the East wherever you go.
