Chaoan Mount Phoenix Ba Xian DANCONG Aged Species (2026 Spring Tea)

About the Mount Phoenix Ba Xian DANCONG Aged Species, there is a legend that goes: “The Eight Immortals cross the sea, each revealing their divine power.”

It is said that in 1898, a tea farmer named Wen Hun from Liziping Village, Wudong, Mount Phoenix, Chaozhou, Guangdong, took cuttings from a mother tree known as “Da Wuye” (or “Jiezhong Tea”) in the neighboring village of Quzailiao. Remarkably, only eight of the cuttings took root and thrived. The farmer planted these eight saplings across different tea gardens and hillsides. Although they grew in varying environments and developed distinct tree shapes, the tea made from their leaves consistently displayed a remarkably similar and outstanding aroma and flavor. This wondrous phenomenon reminded the locals of the tale of the Eight Immortals—each showing their unique powers, yet united in purpose. They called the tea "Quzailiao" at first, and it was later officially named "Baxian" (Eight Immortals).

High mountains and misty clouds give rise to fine tea. Grown at an elevation of about 1,300 meters on Wudong Mountain, where clouds and mist prevail throughout the year, and crafted with meticulous processing techniques, this tea possesses outstanding qualities. Its dry leaves are plump, tightly bound, slightly curved, uniform, clean, and yellowish-brown in color. The liquor is pale yellow, bright, and clear, releasing an elegant gardenia-like fragrance. The taste is rich and mellow, with a distinctive “mountain-flavored”.
